About us

Founded in 2016 on hands-on experience

Brothers Consulting Services is a founder-led South African firm that advises, then delivers. For a decade we have helped businesses fix how they operate, then rolled up our sleeves to do the work alongside them.

Our story

The business began in 2016, when our founder registered Brothers Consulting Services and launched Upende Paints alongside it. Upende Paints is an online paint and coatings business that today supplies homeowners, contractors and industrial clients across Gauteng.

Running a business from stock to doorstep gave us something most advisers never get: first-hand experience of the problems clients bring to us. Cash flow, suppliers, compliance and customers are not theory to us. We manage them every day.

From that base the firm has grown into eight capabilities, from mining site services and heavy haulage to construction, e-commerce and business turnaround. In 2026 we completed a full due diligence and turnaround plan for a multi-entity engineering group in Mpumalanga, and we are now taking over delivery of its operating scope.

Meet the founder

Mtheto Jwaai

Founder and Director

Mtheto built his career where results are measured daily: in the paint industry, in retail operations and later in e-commerce management in South African retail. Each role added something the business still runs on. The paint industry taught product and technical knowledge, retail taught people, stock and margin, and e-commerce taught how to sell and serve customers online.

Mtheto holds a BCom in Marketing Management, a BCom Honours in Logistics and an MBA, and each one shows in how the firm works. Marketing gives us an eye for how a business wins and keeps customers. Logistics shapes how we run haulage, procurement and supply chains. The MBA brings the strategy, finance and governance discipline behind our turnaround work.

That background is why Brothers Consulting both plans and delivers. Our founder is personally involved in every engagement, and the firm measures itself by what changes in a client's business, not by the length of its reports.

Recent work

Restructuring a multi-entity engineering group

Engineering and services group, Mpumalanga. Client name withheld.

A fast-growing group with public-sector and power-utility contracts had outgrown its structure. Decisions ran through one office, compliance records were incomplete and the board had no single view of the business.

We assessed the whole group, handed the board a costed plan to fix it, and are now taking over delivery of its operating scope.
